Its Alright.

After hearing so many doctors talking about "the disease of the century" Im pleased that someone thought about an application like this.

Useful app and the features are very nice

Calming

I am a skeptic, downloaded on a whim, tried it while panicking about an exam, calmed me right down. Heightened my ability to focus.

Really good. Would like audio feedback too.

Itd be nice to be able to close our eyes while breathing and hear audible feedback.

Its fantastic, and could use some extra-fantastic-ification

As others have said, this is a great app, and it has done wonderful things for my life and health. I wholeheartedly recommend it. And having said that, its not as perfect as I would like it to be, and so Im copying a note I posted to the Azumio support site with info about bugs and update ideas. If you read what I wrote, it should give you some ideas of the apps possibilities and limitations. Hi Azumio folks Im using the app and loving it! Its a great idea to integrate this sort of a biofeedback gizmo in an iphone, and the results of the practice make me feel great! Having said that, I have a few bugs and update requests for you. First the bugs: Please fix the clock! It gives me totally odd and incongruous times - with no relationship to each other, or to what time it really is. Sometimes the history shows the whole breathing session, and sometimes it just shows the icons, and a few waves, with a horizontal line through them. What does the line mean? Where did the rest of my session go? Occasionally the whole process just stops. I wondered if it was pre-programmed for a limited time, but it stops at different times. And now the requests: Please provide a function that will calculate my starting HRV, ending HRV, and average HRV over the course of the session (not just the high and low) and then show those numbers in the stats at the end. Create a dedicated stats section with date, minutes spent breathing, number of icons earned, and the 3 HRV measurements above. Also, the option to see the change in HRV rates as a graph over time. Explain more about what the icon signifies - how is a breath that earns an icon different than one that doesnt warrant one? Sometimes they look absolutely the same on the graph- and I cant figure out how to replicate the correct breath if I dont understand why it was different. Clarify the instructions. It took me a long time to figure out that a "smooth" wave doesnt mean "not bumpy" but, in fact, means even and regular with steep highs and lows. A statistician might know that, but my PhD didnt teach me about sine waves. Add a timer so I can set my session length without having to keep checking the tiny and hard to read fine print on the screen. (And please have a very simple, very mellow, single tone, calming sound to signal the end of the time.) And, for the icing on the cake, integrate an audio breathing timer that you can set for specific inhale and exhale length (ideally down to the half-second) so the user can try different breath speeds until finding her Resonant Frequency. Again, this would have to have a totally mellow sound - like two simple notes on a cello - one to inhale and one to exhale. No rainstorms or cricket fests - just very simple and calm. Thanks for creating such a great app and making a space to post all this!

Accurate as StressEraser

I just tried the Stress Doctor app side-by-side with my StressEraser, a standalone device that performs the same function using an infrared finger slot. Amazingly, the Stress Doctor was just as accurate using the built-in iPhone camera. Pretty impressive!

Most useful app I have

Ive been wanted this type of app of years! I bought the emwave product but it require you to be at a desktop. This app allows you to get some biofeedback practice in whenever and wherever. I love it. My only suggestion would be to provide more detailed instruction on how to correctly breath and achieve the pattern that will get you points. Ive had the app for a week and still have trouble getting points consistently. However, I do notice a huge calming effect on myself after using the app for 5 min. Im now a daily user of almost all the apps from them.

Bugs

At about 13 minutes in, the app shows bugs--the line goes horizontal, inserts ridiculously long pauses (800+ seconds), and is completely unreliable. Also, does not appear to work with Timeline feature in their other app that claims it integrates the apps. These things need to be fixed as users have mentioned some of them before, yet its been a long time since an app update. If you meditate for only less than 13 min, you might find it helpful. I am disappointed.

Regret this purchase

Maybe the instruction video could explain how to use this better. I dont find it to be at all accurate. Using this app creates more stress.

Dont waste your time

Deleted after 1st use

Wow this is great

I am amazed this works. I got this program to reduce my stress and I all I can say is it works. It took me a few sessions before I got the hang of it but now I can get in rhythm in under a minute. My stress is lowered, and Im happier.

Not good at all

Extremely difficult to use. Raised my stress level more than it lowered it.

I love it

It took a few tries to start racking up the YYs, but now that I have it down its great. I feel so much calmer and at peace. I highly recommend this app to anyone.

Ok

Could be better

Terrible

App is stuck on video and wont go any farther. Once I started the app and watched the video, it would not exit the video. Even after clicking the Done button to exit the video it did nothing. The same when watching the video completely. I then decided to exit the app and restart it, as well as rebooting the phone with no avail. It always opens with the video and thats as far as I can get. Terrible app. If you want stress relief, its not done by watching your breathing on an app. You should have your eyes closed for that. This is just a heart rate and breathing monitor if it would work. Theres nothing here to help lower stress at all.

Do not get the point

Seems to be cheating

Well-done!!

Just what I needed!

I love this app but...

if you have a delicate pansy finger like I do, and this cool biofeedback app is your only way to find calm (and its such a cool app) then best believe you must work up a callous on your finger. Take up guitar on that one finger. Because the heat after 2 minutes, for me, is not comfortable and does not promote relaxation.
